The Torrent Shipwreck Project

We have received a Field Archaeology Permit from the State of Alaska covering Phase II of the The Torrent Project.

The safety of our expedition divers is our top priority. Because the extreme tides of Cook Inlet create strong currents that make it impossible for divers to avoid being swept down-current, we will time our dive operations at the Torrent shipwreck site to coincide with slack tide on days of the month with the least amount of tidal exchange. Click the tide table below for a larger view showing the volume of water carried by the tides in the area of Cook Inlet where we expect to find the Torrent shipwreck.

Cick here to watch a short Flash movie about the expedition team's discovery of the Torrent shipwreck.
